Police charge man after pursuit of vehicle stolen in Jackson robbery

GLUCKSTADT, Mississippi — Police arrested and charged a man after a pursuit involving a vehicle they say was stolen following an armed robbery at a Jackson restaurant, the Gluckstadt Police Department said.

The department identified the suspect as Terrance Cornelius Coleman. Authorities said officers were notified about a silver Honda CR-V that had been carjacked after an armed robbery at the Wendy’s on High Street in Jackson.

A short time later, officers spotted the vehicle traveling north on Interstate 55 within Gluckstadt city limits. Police said officers attempted a traffic stop, but the driver did not stop and fled from emergency lights and sirens. The pursuit continued until the vehicle stopped near the Nissan Parkway exit, where officers blocked it in.

Coleman was taken into custody without incident and taken to the Gluckstadt Police Department for processing, police said. He was charged with felony eluding law enforcement, felon in possession of a firearm and possession of a stolen firearm. Authorities said he was later transported to the Madison County Detention Center and is awaiting an initial appearance in Gluckstadt Municipal Court.
