Pickle Fest returns to Jackson in June
JACKSON — The Mississippi Agriculture & Forestry Museum Foundation will host its sixth annual Pickle Fest June 13-14 at the Mississippi Agriculture & Forestry Museum, 1150 Lakeland Drive, offering two days of food, entertainment and family activities celebrating Mississippi’s agricultural heritage.
The festival will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 13 and noon to 5 p.m. June 14. Admission is $10 per day for foundation members and $15 per day for nonmembers; children under 3 are admitted free. Organizers said tickets are on sale now and are expected to sell out after a record turnout of 7,200 attendees from 24 states in 2025. A separate ticket is required for each day.
Pickle Fest will feature live music, educational demonstrations, pickle-inspired foods and programming on the museum grounds and in the Small Town Mississippi exhibit. Highlights include a pickle-eating contest, a new pickle-themed costume contest, competitions for homemade pickled creations and dishes featuring pickled ingredients, and a children’s area with crafts, story time, face painting and take-home cucumber seeds. The Mississippi State Extension Service will host pickling demonstrations, and vendors will offer Mississippi-made products. Proceeds will benefit the Mississippi Agriculture & Forestry Museum and the National Agricultural Aviation Museum.
Dr. Bill Herndon, chair of the foundation’s board, said the event continues to grow each year and brings together the community and businesses around a shared interest. Museum Executive Director Theresa Love said the festival serves as both a celebration and an educational opportunity highlighting the state’s agriculture and agricultural aviation history. More information, including sponsorship, vendor and volunteer opportunities, is available online; the sponsor deadline is May 8 and the vendor deadline is April 17. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
