Pascagoula police chief wins boxing match, sets world record
Pascagoula Police Chief Terry Scott won a professional, sanctioned heavyweight boxing match and set a world record as the oldest heavyweight boxer to win such a match, the Pascagoula Police Department said in a Facebook post.
The department congratulated Scott and said it was proud of the chief, noting his success both on the job and in the ring. The post celebrated the victory and the record but did not provide Scott’s age, the date of the bout or the sanctioning organization.
Pascagoula is a city on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, and its police department is responsible for local law enforcement and public safety. Professional boxing divisions include heavyweight as the top weight class, and sanctioned matches require oversight by recognized authorities to count as official wins and records.
The department’s announcement highlighted local pride in a public official’s athletic achievement. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
