Oxford police, K-9s wish public safe Easter

The Oxford Police Department used its Facebook page to wish residents a safe and happy Easter and to encourage people to enjoy time with family and friends, the department said in a social media post.

The post said the department’s K-9s, along with the entire police force, “wish you a very happy and safe Easter” and encouraged people to “stay safe and enjoy time with loved ones.” The message appeared on the department’s official Facebook account.

Local police departments often use holidays as opportunities to remind the public about safety and community awareness. K-9 units are commonly used by law enforcement for patrol, search and rescue, and detection tasks, and they frequently participate in public outreach to build community trust.

Officials did not provide additional details in the post. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
