Oxford Police Department hires Andrea Lewis as dispatcher
The Oxford Police Department announced on its Facebook page that Andrea Lewis is joining the department as a dispatcher.
The department said it welcomes Lewis to the team and noted the vital role dispatchers play in supporting officers and serving the community.
Dispatchers serve as the primary point of contact for the public in emergencies and non-emergencies, handling calls, dispatching units and relaying critical information that helps ensure officer and public safety. Their work supports patrol operations, coordinates responses and maintains communication during unfolding incidents.
Local police agencies rely on trained communications staff to respond to 911 calls and to help manage resources across shifts. The Oxford Police Department (OPD) said it is pleased to have Lewis on board as it continues efforts to provide reliable public safety services to residents.
Details about Lewis’s background and her start date were not provided. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
