Oxford PD celebrates National Siblings Day
The Oxford Police Department marked National Siblings Day on its Facebook page, saying the agency is home to three sets of brothers who serve in uniform.
The post noted the department’s family ties and used a lighthearted line about sibling rivalry, saying, “We’d say they leave the sibling rivalry at the door… but we’re not totally sure about that.” The message included hashtags such as #OxfordPD and #NationalSiblingsDay.
National Siblings Day, observed each year on April 10, calls attention to family relationships and the roles siblings play in one another’s lives. Police departments and other public safety agencies sometimes have family members who follow similar career paths, which officials and community members often cite as a source of institutional knowledge and morale.
The Oxford Police Department did not provide names or additional details about the officers in the post. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
