TUPELO, Mississippi — One person was injured in a shooting Tuesday evening at the West Jackson Mart at 1391 W. Jackson St., Tupelo police said.
Officers responded after receiving a report of a shooting at the gas station at the corner of West Jackson Street and Lumpkin Avenue, the Tupelo Police Department said. One victim was transported to North Mississippi Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police remained on the scene Tuesday night and were actively investigating the incident, authorities said. Officials said there is no known threat to the public and they believe the shooting was an isolated incident.
Tupelo is in northeastern Mississippi, and North Mississippi Medical Center is a regional hospital in the city. Police have not released further details. This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
