Ocean Springs police, Oak Park Elementary wish safe St. Patrick’s Day

Ocean Springs Police Department’s Traffic Division and Oak Park Elementary posted a joint message on social media wishing residents a safe and lucky St. Patrick’s Day.

The message, shared on the department’s Facebook page, included shamrock and police car emojis and encouraged safety during the holiday. The Traffic Division is responsible for enforcing traffic laws and promoting road safety across Ocean Springs, a coastal city in Mississippi.

Oak Park Elementary, a local school in the community, often partners with municipal agencies on outreach and safety reminders for families and students. Schools and police frequently use holidays and community events to remind motorists and pedestrians to exercise caution.

Holidays can bring increased travel and pedestrian activity, and local officials say reminders about safe driving, seat belt use and awareness of children are important. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
