Mississippi auditor promotes YouTube training for local officials
The Mississippi Office of the State Auditor is promoting its OSA Academy series on YouTube as a resource for local elected officials who want to follow the law when handling tax dollars, the office said in a Facebook post.
The videos cover the budget process, local government accounting, municipal law and internal controls, the post said. The office said any elected official or citizen interested in proper procedures for local government can watch the videos on its YouTube page and share them with others.
The Office of the State Auditor oversees audits of state and local governments and works to ensure the proper use of public funds. Training and guidance from the auditor’s office can help officials understand legal obligations, strengthen internal controls and improve transparency for taxpayers.
