Maggie waits more than three years for forever home
MADISON — Maggie, a 5-year-old dog at the Webster Animal Shelter, has waited more than three years for a permanent home, shelter staff said. She has been at the shelter since March 2022 and staff members say she deserves a chance after waiting far longer than most dogs.
Shelter staff described Maggie as loyal and playful. She enjoys soft squeaky toys and may share them with someone she trusts. Staff said she tends to bond most closely with women but has connected with some men as well.
Staff said Maggie would do best in a home without young children and ideally as the only pet, though she has formed bonds with a few male dogs at the shelter and can get along with certain male dogs after slow, proper introductions. Maggie is active and enjoys spending time outdoors; staff noted she is a little overweight now but likes to run and would make a good walking or jogging companion.
Maggie has been spayed, is heartworm negative and is up to date on vaccinations, including rabies, shelter staff said. Her adoption fee is $100; the shelter accepts cash or check. Anyone interested in adopting Maggie or learning more can call the Webster Animal Shelter at 601-605-4729 or visit the shelter in person.
