Lt. Mark Hodges receives honor at Board of Aldermen meeting
Lieutenant Mark Hodges received a formal commendation from OXMS at a recent Board of Aldermen meeting, honoring his long service with the Oxford Police Department and the citizens of Mississippi, according to a post from OXMS on Facebook.
The resolution posted by OXMS said Hodges has “faithfully and honorably served the citizens of Mississippi and the Oxford Police Department with exceptional commitment, valor, and unwavering dedication” and noted that his law enforcement career began in 1999.
The Oxford Police Department is the municipal agency responsible for public safety in Oxford, Mississippi. Local governments and boards commonly issue resolutions and recognitions to highlight officers’ careers, acknowledge service milestones and reinforce ties between law enforcement and the communities they serve.
Officials often use such ceremonies to thank personnel for long-term service and to underscore the role of police in maintaining public safety. Hodges’ career, which began in 1999, spans more than two decades and reflects the longevity local leaders cited in the resolution.
