Lowndes County posts weekly wanted bulletin

The Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office posted a “Warrant Wednesday” weekly wanted persons bulletin on its Facebook page, publishing photos of individuals who had active warrants at the time of the posting, the office said.

The post cautioned that warrant status can change and that some warrants may no longer be active when viewed. The sheriff’s office reiterated that all subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, the post said.

The bulletin asked anyone with information about the whereabouts of the individuals to contact the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office. For those who wish to remain completely anonymous, the post provided a Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers tipline at 1-800-530-7151 and information about submitting tips through the P3Tips mobile app, the office said.

Warrant bulletins are a routine tool used by local law enforcement to seek public assistance in locating people wanted on criminal warrants and to promote community safety. The Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office, like other county agencies, relies on public tips to help resolve cases while respecting legal protections for suspects.

We will provide more information as it becomes available.
