Lowndes County posts Warrant Wednesday wanted bulletin
The Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday posted its “Warrant Wednesday” weekly wanted persons bulletin on Facebook, urging residents to report information about people with active warrants, the office said.
The post said the individuals highlighted had active warrants at the time of posting but that warrant status may change. It also reminded readers that all subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Anyone with information about the whereabouts of those featured is asked to contact the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office. To remain anonymous, tipsters may call Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers at 1-800-530-7151 or submit a tip using the P3Tips app. The bulletin said tips that lead to an arrest or help solve a crime may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000 through Crime Stoppers.
The sheriff’s post warned that some individuals may be dangerous and advised people not to attempt to confront or apprehend anyone. The message was signed “Respectfully, Eddie Hawkins, Sheriff,” the office said.
Crime Stoppers programs generally allow anonymous reporting and occasionally offer rewards to encourage tips. This is a developing story and will be updated as more details emerge.
