Lee County sheriff promotes corporal in Youth Services Division

SHANNON, Mississippi — Sheriff Jim H. Johnson announced the promotion of Corporal Josh Bolen within the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Youth Services Division, saying Bolen has served the office since 2021 and is the school resource officer at Shannon High and Shannon Middle schools.

Johnson made the announcement in a post on the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page. The post thanked Bolen for his professionalism and dedication to the community and asked residents to join in congratulating him on the promotion.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office is the primary law enforcement agency for Lee County, responsible for patrol, investigations and community-based programs. Its Youth Services Division typically focuses on juvenile matters and works closely with local schools to promote student safety and build relationships between students and law enforcement.

School resource officers act as security personnel, student mentors and liaisons between schools and the sheriff’s office, and promotions within the Youth Services Division can affect staffing and outreach in local schools. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
