Kemper County man faces 20 child pornography charges
KEMPER COUNTY, Mississippi — A Kemper County man was arrested March 19 after a joint investigation by the Kemper County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI into the alleged download of child pornography, authorities said.
Investigators and federal agents spent several weeks probing an individual identified through intelligence sources as allegedly downloading large amounts of child pornographic material, the sheriff’s office said. The investigation found the suspect had accumulated several hundred gigabytes of the material.
At about 6 a.m. on March 19, the sheriff’s office Special Response Team executed a search warrant and an arrest warrant at a residence at 71 Parsonage Road in the Preston community, the office said. Timothy Walker was taken into custody without incident.
Walker was charged with 20 counts of possession of child pornography, and bond was set at $250,000 per count, for a total of $5 million, the sheriff’s office said. The sheriff’s office said the case is part of ongoing efforts to investigate and prosecute crimes involving the exploitation of children. The FBI frequently partners with local law enforcement on such investigations.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty. This is a developing story and will be updated as more details emerge.
