JPD introduces EOD team

JPD posted on social media a photograph introducing its seven-member EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) team and identifying individual members and roles.

In the image, listed left to right, the team appears as: Demetrius Persley (Bomb Tech), Aaron Allen (EOD K-9 Handler), Jerry Shoulders (Asst. Bomb Squad Commander), Loris D. Taylor (Bomb Squad Commander), William Kendrick (Senior Bomb Tech), Zachary Gray (Hazmat Tech) and Marqus Jackson (Bomb Tech).

Explosive ordnance disposal teams are specialized units trained to locate, identify and render safe explosive devices and related hazards. They often work with patrol officers, fire departments and federal partners during suspicious-package calls, large public events and criminal investigations to protect people and property.

The department’s post highlights the personnel and roles that make up its EOD capability and serves as a public reminder of the specialized training and equipment required for these duties. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
