The Jackson Police Department is attempting to locate 16-year-old Kewan Reed, the department said in a social media post. Reed is described as about 5-foot-6 and 130 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black hat, black jeans and a black jacket.
The post, which was shared on the department’s Facebook page, asked anyone with information about Reed’s whereabouts to contact the Jackson Police Department at 601-960-7588 or 601-960-1234.
Police departments routinely issue alerts when juveniles run away because such cases can present heightened safety concerns. Runaway youths are more vulnerable to exploitation and accidents, and early public tips can be critical to locating them quickly, law enforcement officials say.
