Jackson police plan for predicted winter storm after weekly meeting
The Jackson Police Department said on its Facebook page that its Weekly Real Time Command Meeting on Wednesday opened with Traffic Unit Captain Mark Hodges offering a prayer and immediately turned to planning for a predicted winter storm.
The department said the first order of business was discussing preparations for the weather event and that officers will work to make sure Jackson residents are safe.
Winter storms can create hazardous road conditions, power outages and disruptions to daily life. Police agencies typically coordinate traffic management, emergency response and public information when severe weather threatens a community, and departments often use social media to share updates and safety guidance with residents.
The Jackson Police Department posted the meeting update on its Facebook page and encouraged vigilance as forecasts evolve. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
