Jackson police meet with JPS superintendent
The Jackson Police Department said on Facebook that JPD member Rashall Brackney began her morning with a meeting with Jackson Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Errick Greene.
The post did not provide additional details about the topics discussed or the location of the meeting. The Jackson Police Department is the municipal law enforcement agency for the city, and Jackson Public Schools oversees the local public education system.
Meetings between school officials and law enforcement commonly address issues such as student and staff safety, emergency planning, coordination of resources and community policing efforts. Officials often meet to discuss roles for school resource officers, responses to threats or drills and ways to strengthen partnerships between schools and police.
At this time, the department’s social media post is the only public notice of the meeting. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
