Jackson County man arrested after allegedly strangling relative
JACKSON COUNTY — A 41-year-old man was arrested Saturday after deputies responded to a reported domestic dispute in the Wade community, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department said.
Deputies were called to the 21900 block of Cap Johnson Road on March 30, according to the sheriff’s department. After investigating, authorities arrested Joshua Ryan Turner, 41, and charged him with domestic violence by aggravated assault for strangulation of a relative, the department said.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department is the county’s primary law enforcement agency and routinely responds to domestic incidents, which officials say can involve immediate criminal investigations and protective measures for alleged victims. Charges of strangulation in domestic settings are generally treated as serious offenses under criminal law.
Turner is charged in the case; defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. This incident underscores the broader public safety and legal implications of domestic violence in local communities. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
