Gulfport police honor officers, dispatcher for years of service

Gulfport — The Gulfport Police Department recently honored four members who reached major career milestones, praising their leadership and long-term commitment to protecting and serving the city, the department said in a Facebook post.

The department recognized Chief Adam Cooper for 30 years of service; Commander Tommy Payne for 25 years; Sgt. Brian J. Smith for 20 years; and Dispatch Supervisor Ryan Bennett for 20 years, the post said.

The department said those milestones represent decades of leadership, sacrifice and a lasting impact on the agency and the community. The post added that each honoree exemplifies the values, dedication and pride that define the Gulfport Police Department.
