Group joins Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics May 7

An organization announced on its Facebook page that on May 7, 2026, at 8 a.m. it will participate in the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics. The post said the one-mile run will begin and end at Crosby Commons Park on Goodyear Boulevard and invited individuals and organizations to join.

The Law Enforcement Torch Run is a worldwide fundraising and awareness campaign led by law enforcement officers to support Special Olympics athletes. The annual events often include runs, relays and community gatherings that raise money and visibility for programs serving people with intellectual disabilities.

Organizers said the run offers a chance for community members to show support for inclusion and the athletic achievements of Special Olympics participants. Law enforcement participation is intended to strengthen community ties while helping generate funds and public awareness for local Special Olympics programs.

The Facebook post extended an open invitation to any individual or organization interested in running. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
