Dispatchers from Marshall, Lafayette, Oxford convene at Communicare
Dispatchers from Marshall County, Lafayette County and the Oxford Police Department recently came together at Communicare, a local community services organization, the agencies said in a social media post.
A Facebook post said, “Congratulations, y’all! Especially to our very own Eden Cain and Thomas Michael!” and singled out those two dispatchers for recognition.
Dispatchers play a critical role in public safety by answering emergency calls and coordinating responses from police, fire and medical personnel. Cross-jurisdiction gatherings can strengthen communication, improve protocols and foster working relationships that matter during multiagency incidents.
Communicare is known locally for offering health and community support services and hosting events that bring together public safety and service providers. Officials did not provide additional details about the purpose of the gathering or the reasons for the recognition.
