Deputy Antrell Tucker graduates North Mississippi law enforcement academy
Deputy Antrell Tucker graduated from the North Mississippi Law Enforcement Training Academy and will move from the Alcorn County Regional Correctional Facility to serve as a patrol deputy, a Facebook post said.
The post congratulated Deputy Tucker on completing the academy. It noted he has served many years at the Alcorn County Regional Correctional Facility, which handles incarceration and inmate management for the county in northeastern Mississippi.
The North Mississippi Law Enforcement Training Academy provides basic law enforcement instruction and certification for deputies and officers, including training in patrol procedures, firearms, defensive tactics and legal issues. Completion of the academy typically qualifies corrections staff for patrol assignments and broader responsibilities in community policing.
The change signals a shift in duties for Deputy Tucker from corrections work to frontline patrol responsibilities, which often involve traffic enforcement, responding to emergency calls and community engagement. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
