Crews close lanes to offload overturned semi at 74-mile marker eastbound

Crews are shutting one lane of eastbound traffic at the 74-mile marker to offload an overturned semi truck, a Facebook post warned. The post said both lanes will be shut briefly while crews work to remove the truck and open one lane as soon as possible.

Motorists are advised to use caution and expect delays in the area. When lanes on a highway close for a commercial vehicle incident, backups can form quickly and travel times may increase significantly.

Highway incidents involving semitrailers often require heavy tow equipment and coordinated efforts by highway crews and emergency responders to secure the scene, transfer cargo if needed and clear debris. That work can extend closures and complicate traffic management, especially on busy corridors.

This notice provides immediate situational awareness for drivers approaching the 74-mile marker eastbound. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
