Corinth shelter seeks forever home for calm 8-year-old dog Baby Hippo
Corinth — Corinth-Alcorn Animal Shelter is seeking a forever home for Baby Hippo, an 8-year-old dog the shelter describes as gentle and affectionate.
Shelter staff said Baby Hippo was picked up as a stray and that no owner came forward to claim her. They described the 60.6-pound dog as “100% baby,” saying she is calm, enjoys staying close to her person and would thrive in a home with a steady routine, a soft bed and plenty of attention.
The shelter said Baby Hippo is fully vaccinated and heartworm positive, and that her treatment will be covered. Staff said she would do best in a home without cats.
Those interested in adopting Baby Hippo can learn more through the Corinth-Alcorn Animal Shelter adoption page, the shelter said. Heartworm is a parasitic disease spread by mosquitoes that generally requires veterinary treatment; shelters and rescue groups often provide or arrange care for positive dogs prior to adoption. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
