A community benefit for the family of Corporal Colby Huffman is scheduled today at Village Cycle Center from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., organizers said in a Facebook post.
The post thanked Brian Michael’s Catering Co. and Blue Plate Mafia for their support and asked community members to attend to help one of their own, organizers said.
Corporal is a rank used by military and many law enforcement agencies. Events such as this typically provide financial assistance, meals and emotional support to families after a crisis or loss. Community-organized benefits have a long history of helping relatives cover immediate expenses and connecting families with local resources.
