Columbus police seek woman wanted in March 24 shooting
COLUMBUS — The Columbus Police Department is asking the public for help locating a woman wanted in connection with a shooting on March 24 in the 2200 block of 8th Avenue South, the department said.
Police identified the woman as Nicole Young, 41, and said she has an active warrant charging accessory after the fact to aggravated assault. The department said Young is considered wanted at this time and anyone with information about her whereabouts should contact the Columbus Police Department or Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers.
Accessory after the fact generally refers to providing assistance to someone after a crime has been committed to help that person avoid arrest or punishment. Authorities commonly seek public tips in such cases to locate suspects and gather information that supports ongoing investigations.
The Columbus Police Department is the primary law enforcement agency serving the city, and Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers takes anonymous tips to aid investigations. Police said the case remains an ongoing investigation. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
