Chief Brackney joins St. Patrick’s Day parade in Jackson
Chief Rashall Brackney participated in the 2026 St. Patrick’s Day Parade in downtown Jackson, the Jackson Police Department said in a Facebook post. The department said attendees were enthusiastic and weather conditions were ideal for the event.
The Jackson Police Department, which is responsible for public safety and community policing in the city, often takes part in local events to increase visibility and engagement with residents. A police chief typically oversees department operations, sets priorities and serves as the public face of law enforcement.
The post noted that Brackney’s tenure as chief begins Wednesday, April 1. Her visible participation at a large community event ahead of taking office underscores the role such events play in building relationships between law enforcement and the public.
St. Patrick’s Day parades are annual community gatherings that celebrate cultural heritage and draw families and visitors to downtown areas. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
