Boondocks FTA schedules 2026 PowWow women’s training weekend
RAYMOND — Boondocks Firearms Training Academy said it will host the 2026 PowWow, a women-only weekend of hands-on firearm training and community building, April 17-18, organizers said. The event aims to expose participants to industry instructors, product demonstrations and a supportive environment for skill development.
The PowWow will open Friday, April 17, with registration and a welcome reception from 6 to 9 p.m., featuring guest speakers and heavy hors d’oeuvres, Boondocks FTA said. Saturday, April 18, will feature four 90-minute training classes covering firearm safety and handling, with breakfast and lunch provided. The day will end with an outdoor dinner with music and entertainment, followed by a giveaway and closing remarks from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Organizers said past sessions have included room clearing, carjacking avoidance, hand-to-hand self-defense, “shoot or don’t shoot” scenarios and competitive shooting. Instructors will include Boondocks staff and experts from around the country, with legal specialists available to answer questions about use of force and one-on-one coaching to help participants refine skills.
