Biloxi Police welcomes six new officers after academy graduation

BILOXI, Miss. — The Biloxi Police Department said on Facebook that six officers have graduated from the Harrison County Law Enforcement Training Academy and are beginning duties with the department.

Officers Chouest, Evans-Porter, Davis, Ross, Nolan and Bellew completed months of challenging training, the department said, noting long days and hard work required to earn the privilege of serving and protecting the community.

The Harrison County Law Enforcement Training Academy provides basic law enforcement instruction to recruits from agencies across the county, preparing them for patrol duties, legal responsibilities and community policing. Graduation from the academy is a required step before new officers undertake solo patrols or specialized assignments.

The department said the new officers represent dedication and commitment to public service. Community members were invited to join in congratulating the graduates as they begin their careers. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
