Bicyclist killed in early-morning crash on Highway 611 in Jackson County
JACKSON COUNTY, Mississippi — A 35-year-old Alabama man was killed Sunday after being struck while riding a bicycle on Highway 611, the Mississippi Highway Patrol said.
Troopers told WLOX the crash occurred about 5 a.m. on April 12, 2026. Authorities identified the bicyclist as Temario Compton of Mobile, Alabama. He was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said.
The Highway Patrol said a Honda Accord and a Toyota Camry, both traveling north on Highway 611, collided with the bicyclist. The drivers of both vehicles were not injured, WLOX reported.
Mississippi Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. Highway 611 is a roadway in Jackson County, and the patrol routinely investigates fatal collisions to determine cause and whether any charges are warranted, troopers said.
