34-year-old charged in armed carjacking at Wendy’s drive-thru
Chrishawn Marshall, 34, was arrested Saturday, Jan. 31, and charged with armed carjacking, the Jackson Police Department said.
According to a police report posted by JPD on Facebook, an unidentified man approached a woman at the Wendy’s drive-thru in the 200 block of Northside Drive. The suspect threatened the woman as he opened her car door, forced her from a 2016 silver Ford Mustang and reached for what the victim believed was a weapon, the report said.
The report said the man then jumped into the vehicle and fled the scene. Precinct 4 officers located the vehicle a short time later and, with assistance from Hinds County Sheriff’s deputies, arrested Marshall, the department said.
Marshall was taken to Jackson Police Department headquarters. He appeared before a municipal court judge on Monday, Feb. 2, and received a $1 million bond, the department said.
Armed carjacking generally involves taking a vehicle by force or threat and is treated as a serious felony. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
