A 19-year-old was killed in a shooting Sunday morning in Holly Springs, authorities said.
Marshall County Sheriff Kenny Dickerson said deputies responded around 11 a.m. to a residence on Highway 311 near Whitton Road, where the victim was found in a driveway and pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators recovered between 12 and 15 shell casings from what is believed to be an AK-47-style weapon in the driveway, Dickerson said. Deputies have interviewed several witnesses and identified a possible suspect, but the suspect remains at large and no description has been released.
Investigators will submit evidence for forensic testing and continue interviews as they work to locate the suspect, Dickerson said. Officials did not immediately release the victim’s name or a suspected motive. The investigation is ongoing. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
