UMMC restores systems, resumes clinic operations Monday

University of Mississippi Medical Center officials said Feb. 27 they continue to restore systems and are getting closer to full functionality following last week’s cyberattack.

UMMC said it can access patient records and that clinics statewide will resume normal operations and scheduled appointments on Monday. Clinics also will begin reaching out to patients to reschedule appointments that were canceled.

The health system said clinics will offer extended hours and extra days to accommodate patients as soon as possible. All UMMC hospitals and emergency departments remain open, the post said.

For time-sensitive needs such as prescription refills or postoperative care, UMMC advised patients to call its triage line at 601-815-0000. The center, known for providing medical care and training across Mississippi, has been coordinating recovery efforts after the disruption.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more details emerge.
