Corinth police and Crime Stoppers of Northeast Mississippi are seeking information about a fatal shooting that occurred Thursday night.
At about 9:53 p.m., officers responded to 1800 Bunch Street after reports of gunfire. They found Darius Gaines in the front yard, dead from an apparent gunshot wound, police said.
Detectives are asking the public for help. They released a photo of a vehicle seen near the area, possibly linked to the investigation. The vehicle is believed to be a 2024 or newer Hyundai Sonata.
Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers at 800-773-TIPS (8477) or use the P3 Tip App to leave an anonymous tip. Crime Stoppers offers up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest. The organization emphasizes that they only need your tips, not your name.
Authorities urge the public to share the QR code for the P3 Tip App to assist in solving the case.
