Reeves touts PACCAR $209 million investment, 100 new jobs in Columbus

Gov. Tate Reeves posted on Facebook that he was in Columbus celebrating PACCAR’s $209 million investment and the creation of 100 jobs for the Golden Triangle region.

In the post Reeves wrote, “Today, we’re in Columbus celebrating PACCAR’s $209 million investment and the creation of 100 good jobs for the good people of the Golden Triangle. The Mississippi Momentum continues!”

PACCAR is a global manufacturer of medium- and heavy-duty commercial vehicles. Investments of this scale typically draw attention because they can expand local manufacturing capacity, support suppliers and add to the regional tax base and payrolls.

The Golden Triangle — commonly referring to Columbus, Starkville and West Point in eastern Mississippi — has marketed itself as a manufacturing and logistics hub in recent years, and state leaders often highlight new factory investments as evidence of economic growth.

Details about the PACCAR project, including a timeline for hiring and the nature of the jobs, were not provided in the post. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
